This issue’s artist is Ann Patterson Bishop. Ann loves animals and has been drawing most of her life. She lives in Helena and is part owner of Mountain Sage Gallery there. “I started my education at CSU in Fort Collins to become a vet, life ensued but after working for BLM as an illustrator and getting to see the many wonderful species here in Montana, I wound up finishing my Bachelor of Fine Arts at MSU in Bozeman before moving here in 2000,“ explained Ann.
As she paints, she uses an eclectic range of media, including watercolor, acrylic, oil pastels, and charcoal, including blending some of the media together.
In 2020 she joined the Clay Arts Guild of Helena and started working with ceramics, creating hanging planters with their feet dangling to make an interesting planter wind chime. To see her paintings and ceramic creations, stop by Latigo & Lace at 122 Main Street in Augusta. While you are there, don’t forget to get some of the best coffee in town.
