We’re very excited to be bringing the Augusta Breeze online. Time sensitive news will be posted here as rapidly as possible, while our other content will post a few days after the print and email editions go out. As a small newletter, both Karen and I wear many hats and we want to ensure that the Breeze stays timely and relevant. By leveraging the Internet and Social Media, we can save a lot of time and effort, and bring things to the Breeze that were not possible before.
At this writing, while the website is very bare, we’re working on making archives available, and getting new stories entered and active on the site. This is a time consuming process and a lot of behind the scenes work will be going on to help make this all possible.
One wonderful thing about having a website is a method for you to submit articles or news items. Even if your not a writer, we can take your raw information and turn it into a story. If you are a writer, we will give you full credit, and the story is yours, unless we pay for a submission, you are free to market your story to other services/papers. The only thing you are giving us is a license to use your story online and in our print publications.
You will notice we have advertising, this is to help expand our little paper to a larger audience, pay for overhead and printing costs, fuel, and help grow the paper. If you head over to our Advertising page, you’ll find that our rates are very fair. As of this writing we are still working out exact rates, sizes, and locations, and should have that information up soon.
