Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen and the Montana Highway Patrol are hosting the second annual Montana Law Enforcement Appreciation Poster Contest for elementary school students in Montana to promote public safety and show appreciation for Montana’s law enforcement officers. This year’s contest is dedicated to Trooper Lewis Johnson for his bravery while apprehending a suspect on February 16. During the incident, Trooper Johnson was run over by the suspect and sustained serious injuries. He has been a trooper with the Highway Patrol for eight years and is stationed in Eureka.
Elementary students from across the state are invited to submit artwork showing their appreciation for law enforcement officers.
Submissions are due to the Montana Department of Justice by April 15, 2023.
Winners will be notified April 28, 2023.
The statewide winner will be announced and will celebrate with Attorney General Knudsen and the Montana Highway Patrol.
