Josh and Niki Carlbom have been providing various goods and services at Sun Canyon Lodge since 2005. Josh’s parents, Lee and Sue Carlbom, purchased the establishment in 1983, when Josh was five years old. Niki’s parents, Dan and Shelly Campbell, have been a constant presence for the last twenty years, and an integral part of the Lodge and the community around Sun Canyon. Together now, Josh and Niki operate the bar, restaurant and the outfitting, priding themselves on the family-run tradition of Sun Canyon.
Sun Canyon Lodge sits on the edge of the Lewis and Clark National Forest and Bob Marshall Wilderness, located on the east side of the Rocky Mountain Front 21 miles west of Augusta.
The lodge is great for weddings, corporate events, family reunions, or personal outdoor experiences. They offer many services including guided hunting, fishing, geological exploration, hiking, trail rides, and boat tours on Gibson Reservoir. They have R.V. Sites, tent camping, a shower house with laundry facilities, and Cabin Rentals.
Enjoy home-style meals at the restaurant, grab a drink at the bar, enjoy the breathtaking scenery around the Sun Canyon Lodge. There is so much to do that you may want to plan several trips.
The Sun Canyon Lodge will be reopening for the season Friday May 12th. This is a unique place to experience the wilderness and see why Montana is truly the last best place.
