Fourth of July in Augusta

Posted on June 27, 2023June 27, 2023 by Karen McIlwain

The Fourth of July is close at hand. The Chamber of Commerce and Augusta Volunteer Fire Department have joined up to host a celebration for all to enjoy.

Enjoy lots of games and fun throughout the day starting with the softball tournament at 9am with teams from each of our town bars. Watch as the teams from The Buckhorn, Lazy B, Western, and Wagons West play for the win.

Do you like to bake? Sign up for the apple pie contest with Susan Carlstrom at the Augusta Service Station by 4pm on July 3rd. Whip up your best apple pie and join the festivities. Pies must be in by 5pm on the 4th.

At 5:30pm, there will be a pet and doll parade, followed by the BBQ picnic at 6pm at the Legion Park with roast pig, burgers, hot dogs, salads, chips, and lemonade provided. Bring your own chairs, and you may bring a dessert to share if you would like. Enjoy live music by Beerman & The Frosty Mugs classic rock band at 7pm while visiting with family and friends.

The Chamber will be having a 50/50, and the boot will be passed for The Augusta Volunteer Fire Department.

Augusta Fireworks Inc, a group of local businessmen, will be providing an amazing fireworks display at dusk. Donations can be accepted at several businesses around town for the fireworks fund.

Support our wonderful town and have a great celebration.
