This issue’s artist is Dawn Duane from Kalispell, Montana. Dawn is an eclectic artist, who enjoys making a variety of items, including painted brooms, jewelry, copper bookmarks, hanging rock towers, driftwood art, fused glass, photography, and even writing poetry and children’s books.

“About 25 years ago I invented and patented the very first tooth fairy coin. These Tooth Fairy Coins are professionally minted and Made in the USA. I designed them and then I went and got a contract with a mint. Before COVID I would ship them anywhere, but now I only ship them in America. It’s fun being the tooth fairy.”

Dawn’s poetry has been in As It Happens-FVCC Academic Journal- Spring of 2019, Where the Mind Dwells- EBER& WEIN Publishing 2019, Best Poets of 2019- EBER& WEIN Publishing 2019, and Who’s Who in American Poetry 2021. Her artwork has appeared in many private and public places, including Charrlotte Adkins Humane Society, Kalispell Regional Hospital, Imagin if Library and House of Glass. She owned and operated her own gallery on Main Street in Kalispell for 2 years as well as running her own business, Everyday Art, working as an assistant curator at Hockaday Museum and working as an Art Historian Coordinator at Hedges School.

To see her work and many others, stop by Latigo & Lace at 122 Main Street in Augusta. While you are there, don’t forget to get some of the best coffee in town.
