Mark Young Outfitters

Posted on May 29, 2023May 29, 2023 by Karen McIlwain

Mark Young Outfitters LLC was established in 1987 by Mark and Julie Young. The original ranch was purchased in 1944 by Mark Young’s grandparents Lester and Bertha Young and along with the purchase came the very original Flying Shit House brand which they still use to mark their angus cattle today.

Mark and Julie, their 3 kids Chase (Emilee), Rhett (Hailey), and Britta (Hunter) Ritter  and their growing families make five generations to call the ranch their home.

Experience some of the best private land hunting and fishing that Montana has to offer. The Sun River flows out of the Rocky Mountain Front and runs through approximately 10 miles of the ranch, which is great for fishing. They also offer small stream and creek access including the larger Elk Creek where they even have 2 RV spots available for camping. They have guided and DIY bird hunting, hunt pheasant, Hungarian partridge, and grouse. You can take your own dogs or hire their main bird guide Lowell and his black lab Knox. They have archery zones where no rifles are allowed in any season, and exclusive hunting access to their cattle ranch property where you can hunt whitetail, mule deer and antelope.

“Our family is what sets us apart from other hunting and fishing operations. When you book a trip with us, you will also get to see and be a part of the Old West ranch lifestyle that helps feed our world.  A day in the life on the ranch entails moving cows, primarily on horseback, calving out and raising black angus cattle, planting and irrigating crops, haying alfalfa, harvesting barley, and spending time in the many rivers, lakes, and stunning nearby mountains.”

For more information on how to spend your vacation with this wonderful family, contact Julie Young at (406)590-6050, or Chase Young at (406)899-6055 and don’t forget to mention you found them in The Augusta Breeze.
